Frequently asked questions
How does “Remove white margins” work?
It renders the page you're viewing, finds where the text and images start and end, and sets the crop box just outside them. Applied to all pages, the same margins are cut from every page, which suits documents with a consistent layout.
Is the cropped-off content deleted?
No. Cropping changes the page's visible area and paper size, so readers and printers show only what you kept, but the hidden content is still inside the file. Don't rely on cropping to remove confidential information.
Do pages of different sizes crop correctly?
Yes. The crop is stored as a share of the page, so on a page of another size or orientation the same proportion is trimmed from each side. Rotated pages are handled too.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The preview and the cropping both happen in your browser on your device, so the PDF never leaves it.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Crop PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
