How to use Invoice Generator

Frequently asked questions

Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?

No. The invoice is built and turned into a PDF in your browser. Your draft is saved only in this browser's local storage so it's there next time; clearing your browser data removes it.

How are tax and totals rounded?

Each amount is rounded to the currency's smallest unit (cents for dollars and euros, whole yen for JPY) as it is calculated, so the printed lines always add up to the printed total. A discount is taken off before tax.

How does invoice numbering work?

Use any format, such as INV-0001 or 2024/17. New invoice increases the last number by one and keeps its leading zeros (INV-0099 becomes INV-0100), and keeps your business details, currency and payment terms.

Which language is the invoice in?

The invoice headings follow the language of this page, so switch the site language to issue it in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Japanese or Hebrew. Dates and amounts use that language's format too.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Invoice Generator runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
