Frequently asked questions
Are the images extracted at full quality?
Yes. You get the images at the resolution they're stored in the PDF, not a screenshot of the page. JPEG photos are saved byte for byte as they are inside the PDF; other images are decoded and saved as lossless PNG, transparency included.
Why is an image missing?
Only real embedded images can be extracted. Charts, logos and drawings made of vector shapes aren't images inside the PDF: use PDF to PNG to capture the whole page instead. Tiny images such as icons are skipped unless you untick the option.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and the images are saved by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Extract Images from PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Extract Images from PDF really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
