Frequently asked questions

What does “Transparent background” do?

PDF pages are normally drawn on white paper. With this option the white is left out, so only the text, shapes and images are kept on a transparent PNG: handy for logos, signatures and diagrams you want to place on another background. Pages that contain a full-page photo or a filled background stay opaque.

Which resolution should I choose?

72 DPI suits screens and quick sharing, 150 DPI is a good default, and 300 DPI is for printing or zooming in. PNG is lossless, so higher DPI means sharper but noticeably bigger files.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. Type the pages you want, like 1-3, 5, or leave the field empty to convert every page. Several pages download together as one ZIP.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Pages are rendered by your browser on your own device, so the PDF and the images never leave it.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. PDF to PNG runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
