How to use Instagram Grid Maker
Add your image
Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photo in, or click to browse. A wide photo or panorama gives the best result. It stays on your device.
Pick the grid
Choose 3 × 1, 3 × 2 or 3 × 3 tiles and square or 4:5 portrait shape. The preview shows where the image is cut and the number of each tile.
Download and post
Download the tiles as a ZIP. Post them in number order, starting with tile 1, so the picture lines up on your profile.

Frequently asked questions
In what order do I post the tiles?
Start with the file ending in post-01 and finish with the highest number. Instagram puts each new post at the top-left of your profile, so the bottom-right tile has to go first and the top-left tile last.
Should I use square or 4:5 tiles?
Square tiles line up edge to edge on any profile. 4:5 portrait tiles fill more of the feed when people scroll, and suit profiles that show posts in the taller grid format. Pick the one that matches how your profile grid looks.
Are my photos uploaded, and will they lose quality?
Nothing is uploaded: the image is cut in your browser. Tiles are saved in the original format, up to 1080 pixels wide, which is the size Instagram stores, so they stay sharp. HEIC photos are saved as JPG.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Instagram Grid Maker runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Instagram Grid Maker really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
