Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers truly random?

They come from your browser's cryptographic random generator, with a method that avoids bias so every number in the range is equally likely. Nothing is sent anywhere.

How do unique numbers work?

Each number can appear only once, like drawing balls from a bag. You can't ask for more unique numbers than the range contains, for example 6 unique numbers from 1 to 5.

Can it generate decimal numbers?

Yes. Set the decimal places and results will have that many, for example 2 places gives values like 0.37. Both the minimum and maximum can be returned.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Random Number Generator runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
