Does removing EXIF data reduce photo quality?
No for JPG and PNG: the metadata is cut out of the file itself and the pixels are not re-compressed. Other formats, and JPGs that are stored rotated, are redrawn once, which can change file size slightly.
Can I see the GPS location before I remove it?
Yes. The coordinates are shown as text with an Open in map link. The map only opens, in a new tab, if you click it, so your photo's location is never sent to anyone automatically.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. EXIF Remover runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
