    How to use Remove Markdown

      Pick hyphens or round bullets for lists and decide whether links keep their URL in brackets.

    3. Copy the plain text

    Why does text from ChatGPT show ** and ## symbols?

    AI chats write their answers in Markdown: **text** means bold and ## starts a heading. Apps that don't understand Markdown, such as Word, email, social media or forms, show the raw symbols. Paste the answer here to get clean text without them.

    What happens to tables, images and links?

    Tables become tab-separated rows, so they paste neatly into Excel or Google Sheets. Images are replaced by their alt text, and links keep only their text unless you tick "Keep link URLs".

    Is code kept?

    Yes. Code blocks keep their content without the ``` fences, and inline `code` keeps its text without backticks. Characters like < and & are never escaped. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

    No. Remove Markdown runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

    Is there a file size limit?
