Frequently asked questions
How much should I tip?
It depends on the country and the service. In the US 15 to 20% is common for table service, while in much of Europe and Japan tipping is smaller or not expected. Pick the percentage that fits.
What does rounding each share up do?
Each person's total is rounded up to the next whole unit and the difference is added to the tip, so everyone pays an easy round amount. Everything runs in your browser.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Tip Calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Tip Calculator really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, processing happens locally, so it keeps working even if your connection drops.
