Frequently asked questions

Is the colour exactly the one in my image?

Yes. The tool reads the pixel's own red, green and blue values from the decoded image, not from a screenshot of the screen, so it isn't changed by your display or zoom. Very large images are scaled to 4096 px on the long side first, which can blend neighbouring pixels slightly.

Which colour codes do I get?

HEX (like #1e90ff) for CSS and design tools, RGB (like rgb(30, 144, 255)) and HSL (like hsl(210, 100%, 56%)). Semi-transparent pixels in PNG and WebP include their opacity.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is opened and read in your browser on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Image Color Picker runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.

Is Image Color Picker really free?

Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
