Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the gradient types?

Linear blends colors along a straight line at an angle, radial blends outward from the center, and conic sweeps colors around the center like a color wheel.

What is the fallback color?

The CSS starts with a solid background-color taken from your first stop, so very old browsers that do not support gradients still show a sensible color.

How does PNG export work?

The gradient is drawn on a canvas in your browser at the size you pick, then saved as a PNG. Nothing is uploaded.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. CSS Gradient Generator runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.

Is CSS Gradient Generator really free?

Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
