Frequently asked questions

How do I get a still image from a specific moment?

Choose One frame at a moment, drag the Moment slider until the preview shows the shot you want, and extract it. The image keeps the video's full resolution.

How many frames can I extract at once?

Up to 100 frames per run, and a section can be up to 10 seconds long. That keeps the work fast and within your browser's memory. For more, run it again on the next part of the video.

JPG or PNG, and is my video uploaded?

JPG files are much smaller and fine for sharing; PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which suits editing. Frames are taken at the video's own resolution, in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Video to Frames runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.

Is Video to Frames really free?

Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
