Frequently asked questions
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Choose Logo and pick a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG file. A PNG with a transparent background looks best, because only the logo itself is stamped on the photo. Lower the opacity for a subtle mark.
Which watermark is hardest to remove?
A tiled pattern across the whole image, at 30–50% opacity and a slight angle, is much harder to crop or retouch away than a small mark in a corner. A corner mark is better when you just want credit without hiding the photo.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The watermark is added in your browser, so your photos and logo never leave your device. Images are saved in their original format (JPG, PNG or WebP); HEIC photos are saved as JPG.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Watermark Image runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Watermark Image really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
