Frequently asked questions
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
No. The content and structure carry over (headings, bold, italic, lists, tables, links and PNG or JPEG images), but in a clean standard layout. Headers and footers, page numbers, columns, text boxes, exact fonts and spacing are not reproduced. For a pixel-perfect copy, use "Save as PDF" in Word itself.
Can I convert old .doc files?
Not directly. Only the modern .docx format can be read in the browser. Open the .doc in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs, save it as .docx, then convert it here. Password-protected documents must be saved without the password first.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The document is read and turned into a PDF by code running in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so confidential contracts and reports stay on your device.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Word to PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Word to PDF really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
