Frequently asked questions

What does the blurred background option do?

It keeps your whole picture and fills the empty space around it with a soft, blurred copy of the same video, the look you see on Reels and TikTok. Black bars fill that space with black instead, and Crop to fill zooms in so there are no bars but the edges are cut off.

Which sizes do Instagram, TikTok and YouTube use?

Instagram feed posts are 1080×1080 (1:1) or 1080×1350 (4:5). Reels, Stories, TikTok and YouTube Shorts are 1080×1920 (9:16). Regular YouTube videos are 1920×1080 (1080p) or 1280×720 (720p). Pick Custom size for anything else.

Will resizing lower the quality, and is my video uploaded?

The video is re-encoded to H.264 at good quality, so it looks the same at the new size; making a small video bigger can't add detail. Everything runs in your browser and the video is never uploaded.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Resize Video runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
