Frequently asked questions
Is the sound reversed too?
Yes, by default the sound plays backwards in sync with the picture. Choose Remove the sound if you'd rather have a silent clip, for example to add music later.
Why is there a one-minute limit?
To play a video backwards, its frames have to be decoded and held in memory before they can be written in reverse order. In a browser that only stays fast and reliable for short clips, so longer videos should be trimmed to the part you want first.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The whole video is reversed in your browser, so it never leaves your device. The result is an H.264 MP4 that plays everywhere.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Reverse Video runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
Is Reverse Video really free?
Yes. There's no account and no watermark. A short optional ad, or a 20-second wait, unlocks each download. That's how we keep it free.
