Frequently asked questions

Will voices sound like chipmunks when I speed a video up?

No. The sound is time-stretched, so it plays faster or slower but keeps its natural pitch. If you'd rather have a silent clip, choose Remove the sound.

How slow or fast can I make a video?

Anywhere from 0.25× (four times slower, for slow motion) to 4× (four times faster, for timelapse-style clips). The frame rate stays the same, so fast clips skip frames and slow clips repeat them.

What format do I get, and is my video uploaded?

You get an H.264 MP4 that plays on phones, computers and social apps. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV files are accepted. Everything runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Video Speed Changer runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
