Frequently asked questions
Why split a text before pasting it into ChatGPT?
Chat boxes cut off or reject messages that are too long, and very long messages make the AI skim. Sending the text in clearly numbered parts lets it read everything before it answers.
What part size should I choose?
4,000 characters works almost everywhere, including free plans and mobile apps. Use 8,000 or 15,000 for paid plans with bigger limits, or set your own size if a chat tells you your message is too long.
What do the added instructions do?
Each part starts with a short note such as "This is part 2 of 5, reply OK and wait", so the AI doesn't answer too early. The last part tells it to answer using all the parts. You can edit both texts, and they count towards the part size.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The text is split in your browser on your device and is never uploaded.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. ChatGPT Text Splitter runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. The only limit is your device's memory. Very large files work best in a desktop browser.
