Frequently asked questions

How does this AI image checker work?

It reads the labels AI tools leave in the file: C2PA Content Credentials (used by OpenAI, Adobe Firefly, Google and others), the IPTC digital source type "trainedAlgorithmicMedia", software fields such as Midjourney or DALL·E, and the prompt text Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI save in PNGs. It does not guess from the pixels.

If no AI marker is found, is the image real?

Not necessarily. Social networks, messaging apps, screenshots and many editors remove metadata, and some AI tools never add it. "No AI marker found" only means the file doesn't say it was made with AI.

Can an AI label be faked or removed?

Removed, easily: re-saving or screenshotting usually drops it. Plain fields like Software can also be typed by anyone. C2PA manifests are signed, but this page shows them without verifying the signature.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The file is read by code running in your browser and never leaves your device.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
